The Babies

At Summerside Kindergarten we take meaningful account of the key principles of the Rights of the Child, relationships, responsive care and respect and ensure our early years learning and childcare practitioners help families achieve the best possible start for their child.

We treat all babies as individuals, each with their unique talents and abilities. We seek to ensure that learning experiences, routines and activities build on the information provided by parents and start with children’s needs and interests.

Our planning begins with skilful and purposeful observation enabling practitioners to plan next steps. Assessment of progress and needs is an ongoing process and is integral to our planning, observation and implementation. By this, we create and maintain plans which help to provide a focused and individualised approach.
