Happy New Year to everyone. I wanted to let you know what is happening at the allotment at the moment. Some crops, such as our garlic, onions, leeks and beetroot, are doing well. I harvested some leeks and beetroot today and the Babies will be washing them tomorrow ready for cooking them up for lunch. I am pleased to say that all our bulbs are now peeping through the soil, which gives me hope that spring is not so far away. Maybe this is wishful thinking though.
The children are not visiting the allotment at present as there are not many jobs for them to be involved in. They are going for woodland play sessions instead and are really enjoying this. I take a few resources such as pegs, buckets, tarps and ropes and this inspires some fantastically creative play in this easily accessible woodland setting.
